Reinforcement of Sraddha through the Daily Namaskara Salutation

As noted earlier, the Namaskara Salutation at the commencement of the Daily Recitation of the Vandana Gathas is a deep-rooted pious skillful commitment by Dhammaputris and Dhammaputras to strengthen sraddha in the Buddha Dhamma. This is customarily expressed as follows:

“It is with profound sraddha that I humbly bow to You, the Most Exalted One, the Incomparable Truly Perfect and Most Worthy Blessed Arahant (Fully Emancipated One), whom I piously acknowledge as the Supremely Self-enlightened Buddha.”
